Dreaming for children
One of my most heartfelt dreams is for my children to find joy. As a "mama bear" when someting comes along that threatens that, it takes all that is within me to not act the part of the "wild thing". Within the last 24 hours, 3 of my children have had their joy injured or threatned by others or by circumstances. It breaks my heart to see them in pain. It breaks my heart to hear them cry. It devestates me to know that the things they believed to be one way are another. I want to jump in and fix things, yet I know that is not what is to be done. I now have to sit back and let them each work out that which is awry and simply "be there". I have such big dreams for each of them. Some of them very materialistic and things I want to give them. But mostly for each of them to know how much they are loved. How proud I am of them. How much confidence I have that if they will simply stay focused on what the long term, big picture is they will make the choices that will be the most glorifying to God and the right path for each of them. Oh how I want to reach out into each of their worlds and just make the pain go away. I'd like to interfere. But I won't. I'll continue to dream dreams for them, give them to God for His blessing, guidance and comfort. I'll silently let the tears fall in the dark and know that without pain there is no growth. Without lessons there is no learning. Without the struggle, the butterfly would not survive outside the cocoon. The wings would be withered and frail. Yes, I dream for strength and joy for my children. God has a plan. He knows that plan. It is a plan to prosper and not harm them. My dream for my children is in His hands tonight.

Dream #1

Not because I'm going to change the world by having this, but because it's just something I dream of. I've ideas as to why this is important to me. One, because it is something I could share and enjoy with my sister, Kate. Two, because it's a little quirky (for me anyway) and it is unexpected. I've always done the expected and would relish the opportunity to be a little different. How much different can you get than an Evolution Orange Mazda Miata that I plan on naming Nemo. This is still in the Dream Stage. I haven't set it on paper as goal, with a time frame. I'm just dreaming. It's cool to admit I want something a little indulgent.
Sunday Reflections
I'm "dreaming" these days. Everywhere I look there are books, articles, websites, even text messages on "dreaming". When I was little, if you were a "dreamer" that was a negative thing. It meant you had no motivation to do the "normal" things people did. Go to school, go to work, go to church, eat 3 meals a day, pay the bills, take regular baths and showers and do the RIGHT things. Mind you, all of those things are important in our lives! It keeps order and some sense of peace and minmizes chaos when you tend to the normal things in life. The necessities. But this whole idea of dreaming, isn't such a bad deal. It's causing me to think about things I've always just accepted as "the way it is, or should be". And the word "always" is probably not really too accurate. Truth be told, I have actually been a "dreamer" my whole life. A suppressed dreamer. I know there is more. I know there are things I've not pursued because it didn't fit the picture everyone else has had for my life. Or because others needed me to be something for them and I have found great joy in being or doing those things. But as I am challenged to dream, to try and picture how things could be if there were not obstacles, no limits, I see the greatness of God! I see that I have always thought with my humanity instead of God's Power that is available! There are so many dreams I have. They are a PART of the motivation and good stuff I know that I can do. They are all a part of the good stuff that is okay for me to enjoy! I'm excited to see what dreams I'll come up with. Excited to see what dreams will be discarded and which will become goals I pursue. Stay tuned! Dream with me. What could we do if we didn't set limits on ourselves. Dreams are good.
